A tip to help you add cost-efficient storage to your garage.
A recent problem I’ve been having is that my house is flooded with stuff. Items would just sit on the garage floor because we didn’t have enough storage. Our home looked unkempt, and it was causing a lot of anxiety and stress. That’s why I want to talk about how you can creatively use your garage to maximize your storage. This tip won’t just give you a clutter-free environment; it’ll also help impress your future buyer and secure your bottom line.
You can see what our garage looked like before at 0:53 in the video. We happened to have taller ceilings, so we wanted to take advantage of that and install storage that wouldn’t interfere with our car. We also wanted that storage to be cost-effective and easy to install.
First, we thought about adding an attic space with a pull-out ladder. However, a contractor quoted us about $4,000 to $6,000 for that change, which is a bit too expensive for our tastes. We searched for DIY solutions and ended up purchasing a FlexiMount lift-pulley system with wall storage. We needed an adjustable pulley because our garage ceiling is too high to reach. We also had to hire a handyman because it was too hard to install ourselves.
